Portuguese orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery, based in Lisbon. He earned his PhD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona and completed his medical and orthopedic training at Oporto University and Hospital Sant’Ana, Lisbon.
A pioneer of percutaneous foot surgery in Portugal since 2005, he has performed thousands of minimally invasive procedures and developed internationally recognized techniques.
Dr. Carvalho has served MIFAS as a Board Member since 2024, Head of the Scientific & Educational Committee since 2025, and Vice President since 2026.
He has been a faculty member since 2012 and has directed several courses since 2019. He is currently Coordinator of the Orthopedics Department at Hospital da Ordem Terceira Chiado and President of the Fiscal Council of the Portuguese Foot and Ankle Society (SPPT).
He is an honorary member of ABTPé and has lectured extensively at national and international congresses. Author of multiple book chapters and peer-reviewed publications, he continues to contribute to advancing surgical education and innovation in foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Carvalho welcomes fellows and colleagues worldwide.
